I've been trying to catch him. I made a trap (out of a soda bottle), he *will* be removed from the tank tomorrow. Hopefully, the trap will work. Last time I tried it didn't work as I planned. Its very hard to catch a stinking damsel.

I don't believe moving him is the answer--just stress him more.

Okay, so is he probably just stressing from the damsel? I haven't really seen the damsel ever bother him other than this time but he could be doing it when I'm not around. The coral beauty always swims by Filbert too, swims closely, like she knows she is going into "his personal space" He does have places to hide for the most part though. When he started this stress behavior he was under a rock where the other fish wouldn't really get to him.

He is still breathing like crazy. I turned off the lights for the night so hopefully that will calm him down. We will see how he is in the morning

Well after writing that sentence... I decided to go check on him...

He is dead. At least, he isn't moving and I poked him with the end of a net and he didn't move or wake up... So unless he is very good at playing opossum, he is dead :'(

Oh wow, so sorry for your loss... There are some things they just die from where we (at least I) have no explaination for. Maybe Puffer Queen has an idea (I'm sure she does...). You need to PM her though.

I think I will pm her. I tried to do everything I could do for him, but I guess it wasn't enough.

I find it weird that he didn't really eat but always had a somewhat rounded belly. When I found him dead his belly still looked rounded. Even though they can survive without food for awhile you would think he would start showing that he hadn't really eaten much, all he ever took was nibbles of mussels.

My boyfriend thinks I'm crazy for being so sad, but even though I had him for less than two weeks I loved him, he was a good puffer.
