Amy, Do you have some other pics of Paris? Mine sure looks a lot like her. I'm wondering if mine has the horns when juvie & then grow into them? What tank size are you planning for her? Do you have anything else live in w/her? What does she pick on/eat?

If I knew I could keep the two of them together... There's a 140 on craigslist for a good price today too. But I have my doubts they'd get along.

I didn't mean that you should take her, just wanted to know more about Paris. I don't even know how conspecifics get along. I've never seen more than 1 at a time in the ocean.

If the lines form a type of honeycomb pattern also have a look at Chilomycterus antillarum. The "horns" of juveniles can be long, too.

Hehe, Jeni, I was referring to the "she's free, come and pick her up" post, the other one wasn't even up yet when I started typing. Burrfish are just adorable and I'm so happy I got Paris. I don't think they should be kept in anything smaller than a 75 though, and she's a smaller species (about 10").

Let me see if Hoover has a photo in his gallery of his burrfish.. Paris does look like she has horns but nothing like the one Hoover sent me a photo of, that one has different markings and MUCH longer horns.. Hm, nope, he doesn't have anything in his gallery. I'll send him a PM and see if he knows the species.

OMG!!! PP, why do you taunt me so I will have a 90 set up shortly to replace my 75. That would mean I'd have a free 75. Too bad you are all the way across the continent
Hmmmm.....I wonder how much over night shipping would cost? Although Nusquam would probably kill me for setting up another tank. I guess it could go in 90. Which would have a scooter dragonet and a yellowhead sleeper goby.

Why do you have to live on the wrong side of the Atlantic, PP? I really wish I could pick her up. That would mean I had to throw out my discuses, and spend an awful lot of money on going marine, but still...

C. schoepfi she is then. I would be willing to ship, your cost. I'm not in a huge hurry--I know I'll have to find her a home eventually though.

PP, I live really close to the border. And there is a place just across the border that receives packages for people. Do fish need to shipped overnight? Or will they survive the 2 day? What kind of shipping weight am I looking at? Under 5 pounds right?

Most juvenile schoepfi have horns.....they will often lose them as they mature.

I may be in your neck of the woods in December.....may take you up on the offer if you haven't found the burr a home by then. Make sure to deworm the burr as these are notorious for intestinal worms/parasites.
