well everyone tommorrow i should be picking up my puffer, hopefully.

i have planted the tank out well with loads of plastic plants and will soon build a cave.

i can't wait to start my puffer adventure.

well everybody my wee f8 is in the tank now. he's been in there 9 hours now and is swimming about exploring his new home. he's only about 3 quarters of an inch long.

anyone want to suggest a good puffer name. i can't think of any good ones.

here's a couple of pics. he is camera shy. when ever i bring the camera to the tank he swims away.

he is tiny, and cute. i have seen him sleeping a few times now with his tail curled up. that is really cute.

I have 4 BBG's with my puffers in a 20g tank and the puffers completely ignore them, but what works for one may not work for the other. I have though come across a few people that have done this successfully

i was wondering apart from snails what is a good food to feed a f8 puffer. i fed him for the first time today. i gave him a small portion of mysis and he seemed to like it. so basicly should i feed him on mysis, krill and blood worm. i have loads of this in the freezer. also because he is tiny should i feed everyday. his belly was a little sunken before i fed today but now it is nice and plump again. i think his belly was sunken because he was delivered into the fish store then i picked him straight away. so he probably hasn't been fed for a while before he was shipped to the fish store.

what type of snails are easy to breed to feed him on. i have a betta tank i can use for snail breeding. i don't know what breed of snail to use for him that is small enough and will breed well enough to provide enough food.

There are plenty of articles in the library about how to breed snails and suggestions on what to feed your puffer. I think ramshorns are the easiest to breed, myself.

I like a main diet of snails, but its not always possible. I try to feed thawed out frozen mysis, live blackworms and the ocassional nibble on a thawed out, shell on "people shrimp".

i think i'll try to get my hands on some ramshorn snails then.

so mysis and bloodworm is ok. i am going to the fish monger soon to try to get some small shrimp in their shells to freeze for the puffer.
