Love the background. Once you get some LR in there no one will ever notice where it overlaps.

Dont worry about the koralias position till you have everything in there. Looking at it left now the one on the top is going to need to be pointed up more to cause the rippling action at the top and the one on the right will need to be pointed up cause its going to blow the substrate around to much. But you will be able to fine tune it all once everything is in and set

So I am writing to you all on the road!! We got all the little stuff done, and are now on our way to get the first 30 gallons of water! Then we are off back to the house to get it all set hill so we can meet the guy for the LR. =D

Do you have your sand? Remember that your salt needs 12 hours to mix.

Yup we got it! Lol I didn't know it needed time to mix though....damn! Puts a wrinkle in my plans....arrrgh. water is picked up...lol .14 cents a gallon too!!

How am I supposed to keep the LR in buckets for 12the hours with out flow =(

You have to have fully mixed salt water, even temperature and flow. The liverock needs to be in something large enough to have them fully submerged with adequate flow.

You will also need to rinse the sand, unless you don't mind the water looking like skim milk. If you have an extra aquaclear, you can get the "soot" out of the water with some polyester batting placed in the reservoir.

Is there anything wrong with rinsing it in tap water?? Kinda hard to rinse with ro water if I have to but it ><

Lol, tap water is fine. Just add some dechlorinater and mix it in the sand in the tank when you're done, before adding the premixed saltwater.

So I just added the salt, did 1/2 cups per 5 gallons, and the salinity is still really low. /scratches head. Why?? LoL

It has to have a pump to circulate the salt mix, it can't just sit, it has to be kinetic the entire time.

Because it's 1/2 cup per 1 gallon to make marine SG.

Ok, so that was my problem, I just added 12 more cups of the salt to the water and mixed it super well after turning on the power heads. I will wait until the water clears up and test it again lol....thank you!!

Much better. I am at 1.025 now. Yay! LoL.

Did your salt mix not have the portions printed on the container?
