Could be the powerhead again!! EFF that thing, I'm returning it TODAY!!! I have a mesh net over it and everything. Maybe he was swimming under it and quickly got stuck for a second?? I'm not sure it the are around him is fuzzy, I'll check when I get home from school. I took that picture this morning before school.
Should I take any measures incase it did hurt him?? He didn't seem bummed at all, was anxious to eat the one snail I fed him (just to see if he would eat)

If it doesn't look infected with bacteria or fungus, I'd leave it be.
You should take that powerhead out. Get the circulation style pumps, so that there is no input pipe that will suck up fish.
Those under gravel filter style powerheads are just not designed for that application, too easy to suck up fish. A piece of netting isn't enough to divert the flow. Get the ones with the wide round grill.

If it doesnt seem to be bothering him I wouldnt be to concerned, keep an eye on it and maybe some melifex(sp)

The mark is still there, but I don't notice any fuzzyness, looks like the rest of his body when he gets blotchy. Returned the Aquaclear 50 powerhead back to my LFS. He asked why and I told him what happened and not to recommend them for fish only aquariums. Replaced it with an Aqueon 950 circulation maker, fan only. Works really well in my 80 gallon, I'll keep everyone posted on it. It is supposed to be comparable to the Koralia's circulation powerheads.

Let me know what you think about the Aqueon, I bought the Marineland ones because they were only 16.50 on Big Al's. I like them pretty well, it's neat that you can either use it as a powerhead or as a circulation pump since it's a transformer. They are fairly quiet, a small mechanical humming noise is all.
I have an aquaclear 50 on one of my freshwater tanks, but I have an attachment on it to hold a sponge filter, so it's fish and snail safe.

So far the poweread is great and Benji loves the flow! I saw him poop this morning and it was an explosion! It was kinda milly white, I could see the pieces of shrimp that I fed him yesterday. Nothing was hanging out of his butt nor did I see anything stringy that held its string shape.
