I'm using 2 tsp's 1X a day.
After moving them from the 125g (15g wet/dry) to the 156g (55g sump) I went from 1.5 tsp to 2 tsp.

You could easilly double that or more, if need be. For treating fish, 100ppm is recommended.

Just tested his water. Nitrate 5, Amm. 0

, Nitrite .5
Last night I noticed two spots on one of his fins. Today they are gone. Is it possible for the ich to come back for one day?

maybe it was just sand? 'Spots' usually last a few days...

No it wasn't sand. I was thinking maybe it was those other spots he gets from time to time. Then I thought the spots he had on his fins this time were the spots he had last time. That's when I found out it was ich. Now I really can't tell the difference.

i have no idea then, ich cacoons last a few days as the parasite feeds.. at 1.009 the cacoons should explode... as neither the shell or the parasite can survive SG's that low.
Do you check the SG daily and compensate for evaporation etc?

Yes mother.
I call the spots calicum spots, I know that's now what it's called but I have no other name for it.

He's had them before and they come and go. I noticed that even Annabelle got them once. When I had my porc she would get them too. They are bigger than ich spots and not always round, sometimes they are as big as a pencil eraser. I guess I am just a little paranoid now that he has had ich.

They usually last one to seven days then they just go away.

And as always "mom knows".
You are absolutely right. I have ich paranoia and tank breaking paranoia.

Every little cracking sound I hear even when I am asleep I pratically &*^% myself. Since the tank broke I think I check it at least 3 times each night, once before I go to sleep, then I wake up and check it, go back to sleep, wake up again and check it. Just don't tell my husband or he might make me get rid of all my tanks.

He's already threatned me. The first two weeks I would hear a noise and literally "jump" out of bed run down stairs and come back to bed "breathing heavy". I got some really good exercise those two weeks.

Then he bought me some sleeping pills so that I could relax and get some rest. So were going to keep this between all of us.

Oh dear. Fish are supposed TO BE RELAXING! This tank isn't gonna break, it's brand new and made to spec. It's totally solid.
Your poor hubby!

The one that broke was only 14 months old.

I didn't think it would break either. Thank goodness he's very understanding. But yes I am still jumpy.

Every time I'm in bed & hear some different kind of water sound coming from my fishroom (across the hall from the bedroom), I jump out of bed to look. Most of the time Hubby gets up at least an hour before me & a lot of the time, it't just him takking a shower!
