fed my puffers octopus today..they were in heaven!
Also, was looking for dwarf rams..finally found two. One was absolutely beautiful..the other...was missing an eye (likely a birth defect, I think) and muted colors and was a little skinny...Bought one got the other free

It was funny, they pulled the suckers off first.
I found this store that sells a seafood mixture with octopus, scallops, mussels, crab and some other things..but 50% of it is octopus..it was like $3.00 a pound..It was at a Hispanic store..so they have a lot of neat meats, very fresh!
No I have not eaten it! It has a chewy texture..the puffs really had to work at it..(after they pulled the suckers off)

I got a seafood melody at the grocery store for $3 for a nice sized bag with all kinds of things like purplecandle said. My GSP loves the octopus! I haven't tried it myself, though.

Calamari is pretty good
Went swimming and fishing today with the fam, caught lots of baby bluegill (tossed back of course) most of them we 'caught' we pulled up by worm anyways (they usually fell off as the worm fell apart)...
Rescued a beautiful blue black and white betta from my daughter's grandma's... She got frustrated with keeping the tank clean, and said we could take the fish home. If we didn't forget the camera there, I'd take pics! I'll try with my cell later.

Awww... please don't! They are so intelligent, it's like feeding Kalvin to your fish.

I just found out I've got a hornet's nest outside my house. I've got a type of willow tree growing out there and during summer it's thick with leaves and you can't see into it. So I can only guess the nest is in the ground next to the tree (from what I've read about them and how they make their nests). Been seeing alot of activity and decided to catch one and ID it and sure enough, hornet (or wasp's as they are very closely related and when I did my research some said "hornets" and some said "wasps"). So I bought my hornet killer powder, now going to wait until tonight when it cools down and they are inactive before I do the deed. The husband will go into anaphylactic shock if he's stung, and these can sting over and over again .... so I will be the brave one and do what needs to be done. As far as I know, I'm not allergic.
Let's hope it works because I have a feeling that this nest is quite large from the activity I'm seeing and it's less than 5-feet from my front door. Naturally I will be keeping my door and windows shut for a while. I think this stuff works fairly quickly if I'm not mistaken.
Anyone have any experience with wasp/hornet's nest and getting rid of them? I watched some videos yesterday of people talking about how to get rid of them, but mostly it was pest control companies trying to pitch their services and from what I've read, there's no reason I can't get rid of them myself with this powder.

My OH is a pest control officer. Hornets are far more peaceful than wasps, its just their size that freaks people out. I would be very surprised if the shop bought powder does the job properly. The best time to treat a nest is during the day when the insects are out foraging (they will get a dose of the chemical when they return) - if you wait till the evening, then they will all be back home for the night & you will have alot of pretty upset hornets on your hands!

I used a spray that could be shot from like 5 feet away, and they were dead before they could even start to take off. But for the life of me I cant remember the name, all i remember is it was a yellow can

Hubby has sprayed them. Usually they're gone for the season after that but sometimes there is a new one the year after.
