pufferpuggirl wrote:Hey, I have just found something in my pygmy terrarium!!! I received my digital thermometer today, so I went over and opened the doors, so I could position the sensor, and Kitty was in the plant, moving away from me, and there just below her, in the plant, was a white tic tac -- an egg!!!
Just one, for now, but laid in the plant, not in the substrate. Talk about strange. So I gently moved it down and dug a little bit of substrate away and put the egg there. I don't know if it will hatch, but I thought it was worth doing rather than leaving it out in the open up in the plant. How strange is that? Seems these little wee creatures are a bit unusual. I will be watching to see if she lays any more eggs, as the literature says about 5 eggs. Now I know how you feel Jose. I did want to get another female, but at this rate (if babies come), I will need another terrarium!!!

congrats! looks like we're all getting new little additions to our zoos hahahahaha
btw, whats your count? (everyone)
i have:
miss kitty (cat)
chakka (cat)
millie (dog)
picasso (chameleon)
kukah (fahaka)
i have to force myself to keep my zoo at a manageable level lol

Oh, and grats on the new rat. Sorry, not a fan. But if it makes you happy, thats all that matters.

she is not a rat! she is a DOG

Lol. Ok, since you posted pics I can see she isnt a bad looking little dog. And I think you're right. She appears to be a mix. Not a hideous little rat hybrid that just shivers and pisses everywhere. Cool that PPG's little one laid eggs as well. Did she lay any more? Did she properly dig a hole and finish the job right? How bout an update. Perhaps if we are both lucky and they mature at relatively the same time we can do some trading. Lol.
Head count?
Manda (manx cat)
Bob (american bobtail cat) I didnt name it...
Muffin (shih tzu) a relatives dog..I have little use for this creature, though I must admit....I rather enjoy teasing and irritating it.
Ebb & Flo (F8 puffers)
3 Bumblebee gobies (no names)
Willard & Kiri (Usambara pitted pygmy chameleons) Rhampholeon temporalis
Ernie (betta)
I too must ease off the animal purchases now. So many things I still want. I cant stop looking at screened enclosures for a larger chameleon or a desert type terra for a bearded dragon.

Okay, well as to Kitty, she seemed to spend alot of time on the substrate yesterday, but not sure if she's laid more eggs or not. But I fed them last night and I got to see Burt eat 3 crickets. I kept my eyes on the crickets instead of the chameleon and it was cool because one minute the cricket was there, the next - gone! Very cool!!!

-first off, dont be ashamed to have a bobtail named bob.... my aunt and uncle have a pixi bob cat named bob lol
-second, dont tease the poor dog! it stresses them out... try training her, then you will see just how intelligent she can be

ive taken quite a few "stupid dogs that cant learn" and turned them into very bright intelligent dogs who aim to please their owner... it just takes time and training, plus, it can be a bonding experience with her and who knows, you may end up liking her one day... give it a shot, if you want some free training tips, feel free to ask
-third, i LOVE manx kitties, my cat is half manx half maine coon, shes a biggie lol, like 14.5 lbs, but thats just due to her maine coon blood, she isnt obese or anything, though she could lose maybe one pound

PPG, time to start charging admission! i think you take the cake for the whole TPF lol, and thank you, she is actually very bright. playful and lazy at the same time, which is exactly what i wanted. someone to be happy to see me when i come home and play for a while, but curl up and go to sleep when im done playing... perfect little girl, and rarely barks too, which i kno is odd for a chihuahua and and italian greyhound lol

I'm not Ashamed of his name, I just think its silly. He was already named when we got him and he knew it, so we stuck with it.
I wont be convinced to spend any more time with or bond with this dog. We'll just leave it at that. I want to keep this friendly. I will by no means physically harm it and its owner knows this.
Manda is my baby. You can see her here.

gorgeous shots jose!
omg... im about to lose my marbles with Millie (my new dog)... ive had her 4 days now. i was off work for the first 3. today was my first day back to work after getting her. she had been alone in the kennel at the shelter for like a month with no human interaction and i guess she got so used to me being with her in those 3 days. today i come home and find that she figured out how to get out of her play pen and she tried digging a hole under the front door to go find me. now i have to replace the carpet in the entry way with wood floor so she cant do that and i have to get a piece of ply wood to put on top of her play pen to keep the little monster in it!
GRRRR, i wanted to be so mad at her, but she knew what she did was wrong and she was trying to be soo cute so i wasnt mad at her any more,

it worked lol how can you be mad at someone who just wants to see you so bad??? *sigh* well, i guess it will take things like this happening until i learn her true personality, then i can begin to correct the issues

shes really not a bad dog, she just panicked when i left for work this morning i think. she was like "YIPPIE! i have a home and a new human to love for ever and ever!!!! yay!!!!!" and then i left for work and she was like "oh no, where did she go???? everything was so perfect, what happened? aaaaaaahhhh!!!!!!" lol. i guess i just got to condition her to me coming and going so when i leave for work its no big deal to her
as for the floor.... honestly, she couldnt have picked a better spot to ruin

its right infront of the front door, which i planned on replacing with wood laminate flooring anyway to create an entry way, not necessarily this weekend, but i did plan on doing it eventually haha. theres no shoes allowed on in my home, so, i like the idea of having an entry way to take your shoes off at. and it will be a free project. my parents have some left over wood laminate from when they remodeled their kitchen... they said i can have the extra, and there is enough for the whole project woooo! so, in reality, its not so bad that she did this, honestly, i dont blame her. actually, i kinda blame myself. i shouldve known that a dog having virtually no human interaction for a long time would get like this, i mean i was with her constantly for days on end and then i suddenly dissapear. id freak out too lol
