Ahem...funny "discharge" 1 and 2

Alright, my ceylons have decided to totally embarress me.

1. Just as I began feeding them, one of them decided to poo-poo and out came a green lump of slimey ball. I picked it up with a tweezer and upon inspection, realised that it was made up of plastic bits. Ahh, finally they are passing out the plastic leaves they have been chewing on...My question is, should I do away with the fake plants in their new home?

2. At about the same time the green slimey ball appeared, another ceylon decided to discharge something else. Now, this round it got me baffled. It is a string of white milky discharge. And it filled up half the tank as the fish wriggled side to side. Erm, is it sperm?

My husband was pretty sure 'cos he said he had seen similar stuff on a documentary when male salmon fertilise the eggs. But this is a case of P.E.

I'm sure someone else's Ceylons used to eat the plastic plants. They're very naughty! I think keep an eye and see if it's happening all the time...it may've been an experiment, and the puffer wasn't struck on the plastic so won't bother again.
As for the ahem.....PE...I really couldn't say....sounds like it though.
Maybe he got excited at the food

Had you fed them anything unusual that could lead to light-coloured diarrhoea?
They really are shameless....really

Try feeding nori of other marine algae - perhaps they are tring to tell you something. Marine puffers commonly eat algae, FW puffs less often, but some do.

Pami: It is normal feeding of people shrimp. So there's no reason for diarrhoea. I have come to terms with this shameless old man (this is the same puffer who fell asleep and sank

).

I tried both cucumber and nori. They took a bite but spat it out. no more plastic plants...maybe silk ones? I like the green in my tank...

You should buy him a long mac! He sounds like an absolute reprobate. You'll be finding empty whisky bottles behind the filter next!

A long raincoat.....usually a dirty one...dirty mac brigade is a common phrase. It's for flashers and guys who drink out of brown paper bags. Macintosh is a raincoat.
So, if the fish falls asleep in an odd place, has spontaneous ...ahem....emissions and is generally shameless, he'd wear a dirty mac. And drink whisky on a bench from a paper bag.
You know the type.....although, one would hope, not personally.

Infact it was named after a Charles Macintosh who invented water proof matierial in *looks up* 1823!
