DP's with severums

Hi I am new to puffers I currently have a 25gal tank In it are 2 small severums (1 green and one gold) and a bristlenose I was interested in getting a couple of South American FW dwarf puffers. does anyone have an idea how these fish will get along? It would be nice to get them but if the general concensus is no then i wont. also what do DP;s eat? snails and such or are bloodworm ok?

South American puffers are different than Dwarf puffers. I wouldn't keep either with severums. Or anything else. Small they may be but they can shred fish much larger than themselves, and can suffer from not getting enough to eat when others are in the tank.

I am not entirely sure what kind of puffers they are the sign on the tank says "south american freshwater dwarf puffers" any ideas what they migh be? (they have the same colours as a F8 but they are not a F8)

Take a look in our Pufferpedia, there are listings for each one. If they are tiny and spotted, most likely dwarves. If they are striped, most likely South American puffers (SAPs). Could even be GSPs, as those are often sold as dwarf puffers by stores who don't know the difference.

Fish stores are notorious for marking puffers inconsistently and incorrectly. Your best bet is to check out the photos in our PufferPedia and see which ones they most closely resemble. Check the Fresh and Brackish sections, as brackish fish are often incorrectly sold as freshwater.
