Question...3 puffers in a 47 gallon...how long?

Post by gruntle »

I am setting up a 47 gallon...how long can I keep three GSP's in there before they out grow it?

I know they will have to be split up eventually, but until then how much time do you think I have? They are each 1 inch to 1 1/2 inch. I have LOTS of stuff in the aquarium right now, so they are not bored and they have lots to do and each one can stake out his/her territory...

Thanks

I wouldn't go longer than six months, absolute max. There's the matter of bioload, which increases as they grow, and agression and territoriality tends to grow as well as they get older, so they'll need a lot more room very soon.
