Hello
After years of having no aqúariums I am back to fishkeeping. I completely forgot about Carinotetraodon travancoricus, but I had them 15 years ago before we moved to our new house. I sold all my tanks and all my fish and completely forgot about the hobby. I used to be a member of the dwarfpuffer forum and helped the owner Jeremy Read fend off spam bots (I was a programmer back then). I hope Jeremy is alive and well? I remember I had a small tank back then, with 4 puffers and 2 otos and they absolutely thrived in a jungle setup and the pea puffers even bred.
Now, I am looking to get a shallow aquarium, originally I considered Blau 44L (around 60x36x20) but now leaning towards 80L (62x36x36cm) with a small group of 6 pea puffers and 4-6 or so otos. It will be an open tank. I am a bit worried if the pea puffers jump, so I might go for the 80L, any experience with jumpers? I will lower the water level at least 10-15 cm - I have semi submerged plants that needs to go in so a lid is not an option.
I intend run it with at least 2213 eheim classic filter.

Re: Dwarf puffer setup
Mine are in a 29g with no top. So far, no jumpers.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Re: Dwarf puffer setup
I've never had jumpers, currently 24 in a 350L quasi opentop. I keep a lid on in the front, leave it open in the back, having roots of house plants in the water. I don't do this to prevent jumping though, just looking to reduce water evaporation. I've also kept pea puffers in smaller topless tanks. The only puffer that ever jumped out on me was a green spotted puffer many many years ago.
