Crayfish for food?

Post by HumblePanda »

I recently bought some crayfish from my lfs. What would be the best way to treat or quarantine them before feeding them to my guy? Could parasites from crayfish infect puffers? I only ask because the lfs i got them from said they get them from local breeders and people who catch them and turn them in for store credit. I'm i being over paranoid? lol

I have been buying them for decades without any issues. It does suck that your LFS takes wild ones in for store credit though. I always assumed they were purchased from breeding farms.

The wild ones would make me nervous. Actually all of them unless they separate wild and captive bred w separate sump, etc. I would freeze personally.
