Hello everyone,
I'm Olivier, I'm 38, and have joined this forum because my kids want an aquarium with puffers, and I want to know whether it's possible to accomodate them in our flat and to learn how to care for them if it's possible; however, I know only the basics of basics of fishkeeping, as I just kept river fish in the most basic of fish tanks at home when I was a kid.
So, I'm here to learn, and will maybe soon have newcomers at home!

Any idea what species you are looking for? I'm not too familiar with what's available in Belgium but an active, easy puffer is the dwarf puffer (Carinotetraodon travancoricus). I would suggest putting 8 in a 40 gallon tank with a lot of beginner plants, like java moss and anubias. You want to have a tank on the larger side when you are starting out because it minimizes the buildup of nitrogen products.

I think I'll be looking for dwarf puffers, because the smaller they are, the more I can put in a relatively small tank! I got a 200l (52 gallons, approximatively) tank laying around at my parents' house, I'll pick it up and try to see how it goes.

Lots of different puffers you could keep in a tank that size!

Okay, thanks; I'll do some more reading on the forum. What would be the easiest situation to take care of for newbies, a dozen dwarf puffers, or a smaller number of bigger ones?
