F8 Puffers Tankmates
F8 Puffers Tankmates
Hey all, so I have recently set up a 55 gallon and have my heart set on getting F8 puffers. I used to own a 20 gallon with pea puffers and fell in love, now I think I am ready for brackish. My tank is starting to cycle now and I was thinking about getting a pair of F8 puffers, and maybe some other fish. Any recomendations? I know they are nippy and some-wha t aggresive, and was wondering if their was any kind of schooling fish that would work, if not that's fine I didn't think so. Any bottom feeders that work with them, or should I do a species only tank? Thanks!

Be careful!! Haha.. Some F8's love tankmates... mine did NOT! Examples:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1W9u3iI ... sp=sharing. <-- Look at Puff's face. It says it all. He's annoyed.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fqR_t7 ... sp=sharing. <-- Look at Puff's face here. He's yelling at me to get this fish out of his house.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aRHrpC ... sp=sharing. <-- he tolerated the mollies, but eventually he grew very tired of them. He never nipped at fish that annoyed him, instead my Puff went in a corner and cried. He was a lover, not a fighter.
The only tankmate my Puff liked was Buddy, the hermit crab. It was a very narcissistic relationship, Puff only liked to hang out with Buddy when it was convenient for him. He tried to eat Buddy for about a month though after first meeting him, so it took Buddy about 2 years to be able to trust Puff. It looks like I do not have any pics of these two that are clear in my Google drive. But i have lots of pics.
