New set up

Post by PeaFishy »

A week ago I set up my 20g freshwater planted tank. Eventually I will add Oto’s and then after more time pea puffers. I keep getting different responses as to how many Oto’s and pea puffers to keep in the 20g. I was thinking 6 Oto’s and 4 pea puffers all together. Thoughts???

[welcome]
4 DPs are good, maybe 4-5 otos.
How are you planning on cycling it?
Do you know how to sex DPs?
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

I do not know how to sex them, but I thought you couldn’t tell when they are juveniles. I’m doing a fish less cycle and using stability. There’s a good amount of plants and I’m starting to see snails that came in with the plants.

I tried to show a picture of the tank but it didn’t work in my original post. I’ll try again

Yes, it is difficult to sex as juvies, that's why it's always good to try & find older ones. Males have visible wrinkles behind their eyes.
Nice setup!

Good to know thank-you. When the time comes I’ll try to see if I can find older ones, but I usually just see juveniles for sale.
