Ah I just saw this. Tears in my eyes reading it. I am so sorry. Filbert's life and your amazing experience with him over those 19 years not only brought both of you joy but has taught the rest of us SO much about Fahaka care. Thank you very, very much for sharing your journey with him until the end.

I'm trying to rehome a few large fish, so I have room for another fahaka but folks here just don't have the room, finances (they are $$$ fish) or knowledge of these exotic fish to take them from me. I live in a relatively small town & most folks around here keep African cichlids.

PufferPunk, I have to admit, I was definitely touched to learn the span of time you had with Filbert.
