So Im one of those people that believe pets should have names and yes, that includes fish. My hairy puffer has been so active and dog like, in behavior and looks, he got named Scruffy. But when it comes to the Suvattii... I have no clue. While my arrowhead is nowhere near as active as the hairy, it does have a very vicious feeding behavior and a cool 'V' Mohawk. So what to name the little guy?

Flèche means arrow.
..."forming an arrowhead shape facing the enemy"...

Flecher or flech is a start.

I was thinking along the lines of something in regard the arrow or arrowhead and the French is interesting....

I dont know what it is but the Arrowhead reminds me of the movie Gremlins and specifically the one called Stripe...

Still working on it...

Today after feeding... balancing on his fat belly

It apparently associates me with food now. It was sitting on the sand and came up to meet the food as it was falling. No waiting to ambush.

Now that's awesome. What part of your house is the tank in?

This one sits in the garage. Right next to the utility sink. Not high traffic area. Eventually I want to build a multi-tank rack in the garage and bring my hairy puffer out there too.

Got the little guy to eat krill this morning. A bit of spit out and re-eat but it ate a couple pieces. Happy that it is on dead food. Need to try worms/night crawlers back on it. I think it was a bit overwhelmed with large size night crawlers. Seemed to do better with the smaller ones or to cut big ones in half.

Look for some Red Worms in the bait section at stores or shovel up a corner of a healthy part of the yard where no fakey made-made ferts are heavily dumped.

Magua. From Last of the Mohicans. He was vicious.

My thoughts on the Suvattii so far are that it is not as inactive as I thought it would be. It has explored the tank quite a bit and does not always bury itself. It comes up to meet me and food. So far it is making good use of the 65g tank. I am happy with the choice in getting him and look forward to seeing his full potential.

I know the common consensus is that they are inactive and dont need a large tank but it seems the extra space makes them more outgoing? Just a theory... but both my lurker puffers are pretty active
