Tank Cycle Question for Dwarf Puffer

Post by tmgarcia70 »

Hi! Today is the first day that my Ammonia was 0, Nitrite 0 and Nitrate was 40-80 (will do water change tomorrow) to see if it goes down. I was wondering how long should I ensure my tank is good to go before I add a Dwarf Puffer? I was planning on waiting about 7 days adding ammonia to get about 2ppm and ensure it is gone (along with Nitrite) in 12 hours. Is 2ppm enough to dose or should I do 4ppm? I plan on getting 1 but no more than 2 for my 10 gallon tank. Thank you!

Did you cut the ammonia in half, after starting to see nitrite?
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

No I kept the ammonia at between 2 and 4. I'm pretty sure the first time I tested I had some nitrites.
