New Puffer! Please help

Post by Cole613 »

Got my little green leopard puffer fish today.

Pet store told me the below and I really make sure I do this right for my daughter she is just in love with it! (Already named it Fluffy lol)

5 gallon tank would suffice?
3/8 cup salt?
To feed it frozen blood worms daily?

Thank for the advice and help!

[welcome]
My 1st question to you would be, how did you cycle this tank? It sounds to me you are way ahead of yourself, if you purchased the fish & tank at the same time & are asking questions after. :(

library/water-filtration/fishless-cycling/

My suggestion to you would be to return the fish & do some research. A 5g is only large enough for a single DWARF puffer, not a GSP.

Setting up & running an empty tank (no matter how long) with no cycling process is asking for trouble. Please the links I provided you.
