I wish the guy in my avatar pic would let me pet him like this. He is very unhappy when I try. If I was that scubba diver I would up and move to that location and go pet him everyday.

Re: such a happy puff
Mine have taken after piranhas. lol Actually the last time I was cleaning the tank and rearranging some live rock, one swam right over and bit me in the wrist. No blood or breaks to the skin
but it scared the crap out of me nonetheless.
I have known cats to do things such as this as they are called "love bites" but I highly doubt that behavior is a trait seen with puffers.

Mine will nip if my finger tips are at the surface. If my whole hand is in the tank he is as far away as possible. However I did need to "burp" him when he decided to take a stroll out of the tank and I found him in the carpet. During this he did take a chunk out of my thumb.

Wow glad yours survived. Sorry about the hand though. Sadly I lost my Ceylon last month due to the same issue. It didn't make it through the night even though I thought I rescued it in time.

Re: such a happy puff
My hairy puffer likes being stroked, sometimes he swims up and rubs his head on my hand like a dog when I'm cleaning him out, but I'm always a bit wary as he could do some serious damage if he wanted to!
