Reliable sources for dps online? Anyone? :)

Post by hadla »

By reliable I mean disease free and don't die within a week or so... -.- or are they only available in a perfect world where everyone does research on pets before buying them?

I bought a beautiful F8 puffer there. Extremely healthy fish. They also sell DPS. Shipping is a little steep but they are well packed.

really amazing, I just looked at my receipt for "Olivia"
they shipped her from Portland at 4:37 PM and she was delivered to my doorstep (central Arizona) the next morning at 10:45AM!!!!!!!!
S & H at the time was only $40
you can ask them anything you want about the condition of the fish, if they've been de-wormed, quarantined, etc..........

:/ are they wild caught though? I'd love to find some tank raised ones. The lfs near me have some dps but they never seem healthy.

Exotic Aquarium in Sacramento usually has LOTS of DPs. They had two 40-gallon tanks just swarming with them the last time I was there. The fish aren't always healthy there, but with so many to pick from, hopefully you could select some healthy ones.

that's some pretty strange logic :?
you don't think that any of the fish in a tank with unhealthy fish in it will develop whatever the unhealthy ones have? :o

Generally illness in places like that are caused by over crowded tanks and when properly cared for and housed they do well.
