My Lovely New Hamster
My Lovely New Hamster
I recently purchased a dwarf hamster from Petsmart. She was labeled a Fancy Russian, but I think she's actually a winter white, based on the coloration and the fur on her feet and tail. I'm looking for ways to keep her entertained, I was thinking maybe some sort of obstacle course? Anybody have experience with that sort of thing?

Re: My Lovely New Hamster
Do you have any pictures of her? She's most likely a hybrid Winter White/Campbell's (sadly pretty much all dwarf hamsters have been crossbred now and it's pretty impossible to find a purebred).
Defiantly make sure she has a wheel (and it would need to be a solid one, if it has bars or wire mesh she could easily break her leg). I think dwarf hamsters run something like 4-6 miles every day in the wild, so a wheel is a must for keeping hamsters healthy and entertained. Other than that just provide a lot of safe toys to chew and climb Good luck with your new pet <3
