Don't forget about me!!

Post by El Scorpio »

Hey guys, I'm still around. Haven't been on in forever, but I have recently moved and have been busy with that. I have not been able to bring Camille and her aquarium with me yet; she's fine where she is and I do drop by for tank maintenance and to restock food for her. What with the weather and everything it might be Spring until I get to move the tank, I dunno. Camille is still doing okay, but I'm afraid her age is starting to catch up to her. I'll try to drop in from time to time and see how everyone is doing.

I hate moving, but I gotta go through it soon. Good to hear from you. Maybe camille just misses you and is not getting old lol
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

I really really hope that I never have to move again. The prior home we had for ~9 years. This place is currently ~26+. Building this place - which we planneed to also be our retirement home - was planned to be our last, with luck.

Yea we moved also .. only have 2 tanks now. 2X65 gal SW sitting empty and 10+ tanks sitting in the basement. Downsizing sucks and the utility costs are HUGE. Thus, out of the hobby (for now).

Something I have been wondering - I'm using a wrought iron aquarium stand that is trying to rust due to all the salt in the tank. While I'm moving this thing is there something I can do for the stand to help stop it from rusting?

you can sand all the rust of it, then sand it too raw metal, get ETCH primer, then paint it with rustoleum spray paint. that would help alot with the rust issue.

Sanding to bare metal and using ETCH is probably the best way, but if hate sanding as much as I do you could sand off the loose rust, lightly sand the rest and use a primer for rusty metal.

Yup, agree with the others on moving with fish tanks. It's the worse, I feel so bad every time I have to move and I can tell my puffer is as sick of it as I am.
