making a friend :)
I was wondering if there are any experienced f8 owners that I could befriend and talk to when I have a question? I did hours of research before setting up my tank and cycling. And lots of research on what kind of puffer would best suit me. I've had them going on 4 weeks now. But have some questions and concerns. I have a really hard time finding answers to some of my questions even on Google search. Just looking for someone to talk to and see what their experience has been with their f8's.
We need a bigger boat.

By all means, post questions here on the forum. Many of us have kept F8s, and you'll get the benefit of several opinions and many experiences if you post, not just one. That's the beauty of The Puffer Forum!
Yo ho, yo ho, a puffer's life for me.

I have and just feel like I don't get a ton of help. Maybe I just had unrealistic expectations? But thanks for your help.
I was just curious how your puffers colors change. Are they lighter when sleeping? Also mine act bored. One of them constantly paces the glass. He is the biggest one I have. I have a heavily planted tank with rocks and wood. And the other 2 explore a little. Should I make a covering or get a cave?

Yes give lots of hiding places, they will often camouflage to the substrate when sleeping and hunting. Do you have a full tank shot we could see?
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

Use picresize.com or any website like imgur what not, change the file to 256kb, I use picresize.com be sure to change it from 50% smaller to no cnange then on file size input 256kb amd continue. Then save the file to your desktop or wherever and upload that pic to us and then thats it. Your new file will probably be a lil smaller than 256kbHeatherRW wrote:Yes but can I upload it straight to this post? I'm not a genius when it come to computer stuff. More tall decor would be much appreciated by your puffs, and more caves/ hidey holes. As for avatar pics I am hopeless someone did mine for me lol

Youre welcome and Yes very awesome tank, i like what you have going there. The tank seems to have tall plants in em already, just add more of those and see what happens. as for caves, I just got some slate rock and holy rock and stacked them, idk if you have enough space for that, I would just A)carve a hole into some base rock, or B)buy a small pre-made artificial reef cave, but really in my opinion, if your puffer wants to pace all over the glass hes going to pace no magtter what, if you add much more decor you may risk over doing it, it already looks fantastic..And heres alink to a website that may aid you in your avatar

Re: making a friend :)
Aw thank you defool! I put a lot of time, money, and research into it. It's really nice to get a compliment on it. I can move somethings around to make room or even take something out. I got all my driftwood from a lake we camp at in the summer and the rocks from my yard. I will go find some more and get some cave action going on!defool89 wrote:Arny wrote:Hey HeatherRW, nice looking tankHeatherRW wrote:Oh wow thank you defool!!!!

Love it!
As for puffer behavior it all depends on their personality/tankmates/surrounding environment.
