Figure 8 tank mates?

Figure 8 tank mates?
I will be moving my figure 8 to a 36 gallon soon and am looking for opinions on what else could go in there with him. Would another figure 8 be ok or would they be to aggressive towards each other? Maybe a knight goby? I could leave him solo but the tank would look pretty empty!

I have only successfully co-housed F-8s together when they were purchased together, and likely less than 50% of the trials worked. If one fish has been established weeks or months as a singleton, it never worked for me.
I have had pretty good luck w/BBGs, but not 100%.

I loved my knight gobies & they spawned all the time.

I tried balloon mollies with my F8. They lasted a very long time, but eventually became puffer snacks.

I think I'm going to give the Knight Gobies a shot. Should I do a pair or a trio in the 36 gallon?
