Yes, if the tank is large enough & heavily decorated. Best that they grow up together, starting them as juvies.

if youre thinking of putting one with your gsps, you will need a MUCH bigger tank.

Ceylons require 40g minimum, and they're rarely available anywhere.

Identical care& feeding, just add 10g to the GSPs suggested housing.

90g is good 1 GSP and 1 ceylon. Bigger = better. 75g a little too small IMO.

I can't find any ceylons in my area.
Kind regards,
Terrance

From my experience they get along wonderfully! I have a 5 year old GSP and a 3 year old Ceylon. The Ceylon, Valentine, is probably 2" or 3" bigger than puffy, the GSP. They started in a 29g, moved to a 46g and now a 55g. They dance together whenever you go up to the tank, always bright and beautiful and never a problem together. When we got the Ceylon, he was much smaller than the GSP, not sure if that helped. They are currently in full salt water, ranging from 1.0021-1.0023 and I started that off slowly raising the salinity years ago. They are in about 78 degrees. =)

i dont think 55g is big enough in the long run for both of them.

The right water conditions and that they get along is important but I don't think you understand that it is NOT fine to house them in a tank long term that is to small. 55 gallons is to small for both of those fish, in the end it will result in a shorter life span.
