Glad you got him out of the 10 gallon. Do you know how long he was in there? As far as I know, there is no way to tell the sex of most puffers, with the exception of dwarf puffers. Nice name

Most of the Carinotetraodon species can be sexed.

Ok i came home from work to grab some tools i check on puffs and he was kinda vertical in the coner a little dark. I gave him a little tap and he swam away just fine. However returned to the bottom laying on his tummy. Could this be from stress from being moved? My water levels are all in the safe zone and temp is slowly climbing at 75 right now. Im just worried i really like this guy lol and idk how long he was in the ten gal. He ate most of the guppies and shrimp in the tank, what kine snails should i be giving him? he also took a healthy dookie last night lol sorry for the bombardment of post

Ramshorn and/or pond snails are great choices. Feeding him fish, however, is very unhealthy.

I disagree, this species is a piscavore, they rarely eat snails.
Re: howzit everyone
so should i feed him only crustaceans?

Re: howzit everyone
Earthworms & shrimp tails are what I started mine on. Eventually she ate pretty much anything I dropped in there, even clams. My new miurus, not so easy... Mostly just worms for him.
