From the pics you've showed me, his tank looks a little bare. Is there anyway you could show us a full tank shot?

It's not TOO bare and he seems to like it...always exploring lol. I've been meaning to get him some sort of cave to replace one of the pieces in there, it's just hard to decorate with only a 20g tank. I'm gunna be upgrading him to a 40g within the next month or two.

My Puffer had a day or two like you have described ..... except mine never curls into a ball, just relaxes on the bottom of the tank snuggled up to an ornament or rock. What made him active again was that he left a very large Puffer Poo on the tank floor where he had been laying. Almost thought someone had given him an uncrushed snail til I realized it was PufferPoo.

But glad to hear that yours is feeling like his old self again!

I like your tank too.... I noticed that you have sand all over your ornaments though. From my experience .... if the sand is disrupted when you are cleaning the tank, adding back in clean water, gets mixed up in the water too much, and gets sucked into your filter intake.... it is a good possibility that it will take out the impeller of the filter. I thought I was keeping my sand disruption under control pretty well, but my impeller went out and burned out the motor in my filter box. Just thought I would let you know.

Thanks for the compliment and heads up about the sand but unfortunately I'm well aware of this due to the fact that I already ruined one impeller on my AquaClear 50 -______- lol. Its just SO hard to keep from disturbing the sand bed when doing water changes and adding new water to the tank. (I'm sure you already knew that though) Especially because I like to stir it up with my hands every now and then to prevent anything from getting stuck under the sand and rotting. When I upgrade his tank in the future hopefully I'll have less sand getting sucked into the filter because it will be higher up and the sand bed will settle before it reaches the filter. I can only hope though! Lol

I do/did turn off the filter during water changes.... I think the filter tube was too close to the bottom of the tank.... solved with new filter.... cut the intake pipe off much shorter than the old one.
