Question about bloodworms

Post by puffykid »

Hey so I did the dumb thing of leaving my package of previously frozen bloodworms out overnight. They were still in the original un-open package and I was wondering if they were still okay to use? Or should I just get new ones? Thanks!

Get new ones. Bloodworms are not to be refrozen.

"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

OMG, the smell of bloodworms that have been left out a day could gag a maggot. :yuck: Trust me.

I think bloodworms are kind of stinky as is. They have a musky smell, can't imagine them spoiled *shudders*

They taste like :yuck: too. I haven't tasted it myself, but I friend of mine has. She accidentally drank half a cup of bloodworms mixed with Pepsi. She was sick for several days afterwards. :yuck: :yuck: :yuck:

Strange Scandinavian midsummer parties...

I've "bred" blood worms in a large container outside together with mosquito larvae. Much work and space for a small puffer snack. Those did not smell that bad, but the packaged stuff is really nasty - bet much of it is from farms feeding large amounts of chicken manure. Once thawed they probably quickly decay. I don't feed them at all at the moment.
Give a man a fish, and he'll eat for a day. Give a fish a man, and he'll eat for weeks.
