GSP snail question please

Hi I have 4 GSPs in brackish conditions. I came about the motherload the other day while I was on a bike ride. I found a small pond with millions of ramhorn snails. There are so many of them you can scoop them up in your hands by 20's. It was funny cuz I found a can someone threw away on the side of the road and rinsed it out and put tons of them in there and rode my bike home! My question is probably stupid but is it ok to feed them to my puffers without doing something to them 1st? I have been feeding them and they are loving the baby snails taking them whole in there mouths and crunching them up. The puffers seem happy and healthy but sort of worried that maybe I should somehow treat them before? I rinse them off good but thats about all. I also would love to start a colony of the snails or something in my fresh water tank with my other fish, would that be ok. Thanks for the advise!

i would quarantine them in the freshwater tank 4 a little bit but im not positive if u have to do that but i would and starting the colony of them is a great idea i use my little sisters tank as a snail farm lol

I picked up about 500 of them at a local pond. They're in the freezer.

Like Pufferpunk said freezing them is the best way to get rid of anything bad they may have (like parasites). However, I have to say I am SO jealous that you guys stumble upon these snails. I have to buy and breed my own. I'm sure if I were to walk to some ponds or something I MAY find something, but too many ticks to risk it.
