Unkown Puffer - Location (country): San Francisco, Ca
New to Forum and new puffer friend
I went to the shadiest fish store I have ever been to and I saw this little guy with 3 porqupines... the owner didnt know what it was so he told me it was 10 bucks. I felt bad and bought it (rookie mistake but I'm sure anyone else who bought it would have killed him by now). Anyone know what it is?

It's a little burrfish. Much like a porcupine puffer but will not grow as big.Chris,

It's a cute little thing you have there!
I am terrible at ID-ing SW fishes, so I won't try with this one either. But if it's a little burrfish, make sure you medicate him/her for IPs. Burrfishes have a lot of problems with IPs. It's nice to see such a healthy specimen though.When it comes to feeding, be careful with the tubifex. Tubifex is quite fattening, and should not be used as regular food. Burrfishes can be a bit tricky with food though.

It's a bigeye burrfish, I believe something like obicularis.
