snails for fahaka other than rams and pond snails?

Post by lesleyanndunn »

Is there any other types of snails other than pond snails and ramshorns that a 6" fahaka can eat?

the ramshorns are eaten too easily, even the largest ones I can find..

hes eats shell on mussel/cockle, is that enough for beak trimming?
hes also on other foods as well.

would like to get snails every couple of weeks from online and throw into him, as long as they are safe enough and wont break his teeth.

any suggestions?

I can't remember the last tine I spent $$$ on a large snail for my 12" fahaka. There are so many other, cheaper crunchy foods for him to eat.

I agree. Mine is now at the size that he takes on clams and decent size marmokrebs. If you can get a hold of Giant Colombian Ramshorns, than great, but they are harder to find. :?
