J-P's New Shop
The new shop is online and almost ready to go.
http://www.invertplanet.com
There are still several dead links but many are good to go.
In the shop side:
Medications database is ready
Tanks Database is ready
and E-Books are also ready.
Got 3 categories filled out of several.
Let me know what you guys think

Re: J-P's New Shop
I know I have to fix the link colors in the shop section, the light blue on white make it difficult (at best) to read and overall the site needs more content.
Unfortunately, The Planted Tank completely cut me off and I'm not even allowed to mention the site there One of the mods and the admin and I had a little spat last night about it. Silly ppl dictating how and where a person is allowed to make a living.

Re: J-P's New Shop
Well I did not get that far yet. I did look here and there on the site though. Always going to have alittle drama going on between ppl in charge of something..lol. I never got to that point with an owner of a local cichlid group yet, im the Admin for that group plus I started a group myself on FaceBook here acouple of months ago and believe me it's extremely hard to come up with things on your own. I might end up asking a very knowledgable member in my group to become my Admin to help out. Now I know why these sites need the whole staff..lol

Re: J-P's New Shop
this is what I don't get about their site, and I made it VERY CLEAR, there are 4 tiers and the top tier get their own forum and banners etc... I paid for the 2nd from the top and they quashed me because of my sig link.
Apparently only the top tier can have a commercial sig link and I can't afford that, yet. If this type of thinking keeps up I'll never be able to afford that.
If you google searched "shirakura shrimp food" out of the top 5 sites, 4 are forums. Vendors like myself, drive traffic to forums.
I can't understand how they can't see the value in that.

Re: J-P's New Shop
Looks to me, you did most of the work and they still going to complain? From what little time that I have talked to you, I thought to myself that you seemed very easy going and easy to get along with. They have serious issue problems.

Re: J-P's New Shop
I just don't get them... they are HUGE and I can understand them not wanting to turn their forum unto a link farm for sales... yet at the same time... HELLO... I need to earn a living and it is a sig, not a banner ad nor a dedicated sales sub forum.
I think they just went a little too far.
Off rant.
New site, new product, new approach

Nothing wrong with forums with sales, imo. Most forums that I know have afew members that have their own sales ads. So why they making such a big fuss? Yours fits perfect in that forum.

Polli!! I appreciate you confidence
Obviously, it will be slow going but I think it will pick up eventually.
I really haven't started to advertise the sire yet because it is incomplete

HA! This is hilarious. I got banned from a forum for posting this:
http://www.wetwebmedia.com/ca/volume_7/ ... 1/dsb.html
It's helpful information. I wasn't trying to "sell anything" lol. Someone was asking about deep sand beds in freshwater aquaria, so I sent them in this direction. I was booted and banned. How silly. The site is...
The Winnipeg Fish Forum.
It's a joke. People care MUCH more about the "sponsors" than the members. How do they stay afloat without members? I doubt they will. I even did what they asked (contacted admin about it, but they didn't even anser me).. How professional.
JP - I'm officially a member. Good work so far!

Re: J-P's New Shop
I will keep that in mind the next time I send a link trying to help out because I have done it pletty of times but all forums do have their own rules and some are alot stricker then others. The only other forum that ever warned me about something really silly was MFK...lol. They do got some wierd ways.geronimo69 wrote:FADE2BLACK_1973 wrote:Nothing wrong with forums with sales, imo. Re: J-P's New Shop
Way back in the dark ages of the web for me, I visited a number of forum sites routinely. One site I remember banned me because I ref'd one of my own articles on another site after a change in the administration.
Life is too short for that sort of stupidity. I can live very well without them. To be honest, I can do a lot better without them than they do without me and others like me - the site really dumbed down after that change. Most of the knowledgeable folk left, so it became novices passing myths back and forth from what I hear. Sad but deserved.
