Dragon gobies in SW

So, I have been slowly (over about 3 years) been bring my dragon Gobies up to marine conditions. They are thriving and have amazing colors and a great appetite right now and I'm thinking of moving them in to my marine tank. I currently have them at 1.022, anyone keep them up this high?

I didnt even know these guys were BW much less SW. I always thought they were FW only. I wanted to get one so bad back in the day but my exgf didnt want one cause my little research said you need a good top to keep them from getting out and wondering around your house lol

Dragon gobies are all "look" with no action implied or contemplated. They are close to or are filter feeders, and IME need mid-level BW to SW. They really like secure burrows or tunnels, and do not mind at all half-PVC pipes along the front glass if you can cut the pipe lengthwise and don't mind PVC looks.

They are not good community or mixed tank fish as they are very poor competitors. But they are cool fish and long-lived if healthy.

PP has a good article on them - is it in the library here? There used to be another good one on-line with good pics, but it is no longer around.

Edit: They have been captive bred, in full-strength SW only (does that tell you anything?) Long life in FW or very light BW is unlikely.

They can live with con-specifics in large tanks w/plenty of roomy caves or tubes, provided you take care that everyone gets fed separately. The bigger the tank, the better.

I've slowly brought them up over the years and they are thriving! I know they are found off the Gulf Coast and off the northern end of South America as far down as 100 feet. Beautiful fish and if you ask me, one of the prettiest of the gobies when they are healthy and well tended to. Need huge tank volumes though when they reach adult size.

It's here, but I think it needs some updates based on new experiences with longer life and breeding and larger size in SW.
