GSP's Get Punked...

Post by lisalisa »

SO, last night I fed my puffers a cricket. I put a tiny one in and, as usual, they ate it in seconds. They weren't at all rounded, so I got them another one. I plopped it in, and a puffer went for it...but the cricket fought back big time!! Pinching and scratching the puffer so bad that the puff ran away..and hid :15:

They other one went for it, but the cricket put up the same fight...eventually he gave up and came begging for different food.

I took the cricket out and put it into my Fahaka tank...he didn't last long in there

LOL thats too funny! :15:

i have had the same thinghappen to my F8, but with a ghost shrimp instead of a cricket. my F8 actually stopped trying to eat the shrimp and swam up to the glass and gave me this really sad look.

Puffers are such characters, mine behave much like me in the morning grey and slow moving not very interested in much. GIve them an hour and they are a brightly colored and begging for food. i tried a cricket on mine and the little one grabbed it and the large one snuck up and tore it in half.

We offered a thawed shrimp to our humpback puffer and he went over looked it over carefully and gave my girlfriend the

"you've got to be kidding me"

look and went back to rest under his driftwood.

I hope to offer them crickets again soon it was commical to watch the first offering reaction.
