Today has been a most frustrating day. I've been feeling sick all day, although I did push myself to do a water change on my irrubesco tank, so at least I got one done. But the neighbour has put his dog out the back and seriously, for like 4 hours that poor thing has been barking to be let back into the house. I don't know what he's doing in there, but the barking is driving me insane. If I let my dogs out there, they all bark and snarl at the fence, and his dog (pitbull) acts like it's going to knock the fence down to get to mine. I don't feel angry at the dog, but I do feel very angry at the man. How ignorant is that? So I took a rawhide chew out for it and the poor thing took it like he'd not had food in a week, and it would not surprise me as this guy's high on weed 24/7 and probably can't remember to feed the dog.
But I just feel that he's being very inconsiderate in regards to the rest of us because I don't want to hear his dog barking for hours and hours on end. And I just have this feeling that if it were my dogs doing it, it would be a different matter altogether!

Ya when I had dogs, if they started barking they were let in asap.

Yeah, he calls it a "Staffy", but looks like what we'd call a pitbull to me. Thing is, if I call the council, they will probably destroy it. I will keep an eye on things and see how often he's chucking it outside. I have a feeling that his cannabis mate comes along (he brings his dog with him)and my neighbour chucks his outside so they can sit in there and smoke. I don't care if he wants to smoke his head off, but I just felt so badly for the dog, and it does sort of inconvenience me too because as it was a bit warm today, I had to have my windows open, which means hearing that barking loudly, and also because I fear that his dog will come through the fence (it's not a very strong fence) -- and a dog fight is the last thing I'd want to see. :grump:

I do understand that dogs will bark, mine do - but 4 hours of barking is a little bit overboard. :whip:

Staffies and Pitbulls are closely related (and even cross bred in history to create smaller faster fighting dogs, more easily hidden if authorities were notified of a fight) as well as bull terriers. I myself would not let that knowledge prevent me from one day owning a bull terrier, as I personally think that a proper owner could raise a good pet pitbull. Unfortunately, I think there is a lot of issue in knowing whether an owner is 'capable' of being the right owner. Dogs are just like kids, need love, affection, direction and proper discipline.

I'd hope that he isn't mistreating his dog, I'm sure you'll keep an eye out. :)

As for here, no hot water today. Last night it quit working, and my boyfriend said we have to 'reset' it somehow - but our water heater is in the landlord's apartment... I won't have access to it until he gets home, and I have to be at work before then. :( Looks like I will have to go to sis's house today to get cleaned up!

Boyfriend also text me today, and said that one of our friend's had an interesting day yesterday. He broke up with his ex about a month ago, and is now seeing someone new. (this is a VERY on-again-off-again relationship). Apparently, he and a new girl he is seeing went to McDonalds, and while they were inside his psycho ex rammed into his car. He didn't call the cops or anything - You can bet I would have. She's crazy, but I bet ya money when this new girl gets tired of being the 'target' of this psycho's attacks and leaves him (like all the rest) he'll be back with the psycho again... To each their own, I suppose, but it just sucks they have a child together, (and she has one from a previous relationship) and these two kids are being jerked back and forth - in and out of their crazy relationship all of the time. It's not fair to them!

Hey, while I'm sorry you were rushed into hospital, at least it's all over now and you should feel better and get back to normalcy. That pain will go away, but try not to do too much because it will hurt. Glad to hear you made it through alright though. Best wishes for a speedy recovery! :grouphug:

went and bought some metal 1/4 round for the edging on the glass top for the tank. I spoke to the guy in the hardware section and specifically asked "how well do you do you know your adhesives?" His reply was "fairly well." So I showed him the metal 1/4 round and said "I have to adhere this to glass. What do you have that will do the job?"

OMG, the look on his face was priceless! He had that look as if I asked him what color underwear his mother wore! First it was total shock, then it was confusion...

After a few phone calls he finally found a product that seems like it will do the job :)

Very interesting shopping experience!

After being neuro all day I finally got a hold of the person who is petsitting my pets. She was not doing a proper job, not doing what she's being paid to do so as of tomorrow I'm taking over which means I'll be back to working three different jobs each day again :? On top of working overtime at my full time job. There is no rest for me this month. I'm so behind with everything else I need to do outside of work and I just moved my horse a week ago and I've only been able to see him once. Thankfully I know he's being taken care of. I'm going to be so happy to see my dogs again, I've been worrying about them all week as 2 of the three are special needs and one of them is 16 years old. The 16 year old also bit the person who was watching them and she had to go get stitches so I've been worried sick about her as she A) doesn't bite, and B) is old, blind, deaf, senile, and very very slow. She does not have the strength or speed to put into making people get stitches.

So on top of working full-time with over-time I am petsitting two critters in one city (with one being diabetic) and an hour away I'm petsitting 11 animals with 3 of those being special needs.

*sigh*
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.
