Is my GSP ready for his new home????

Post by beezepuffingaround »

Okay, So the new home is set up, I just want to run the WP by all you expert GSP lovers and Tell me if its time?

Set up tank and filled with water, Dechlor last night, Set up heater and filter at 6 am this morning, Added old GF Water to tank at 7:30 am to booste the Amonia( My plain tap water amonia test read .25). At 12pm I added 11 tbsp marine salt(wp-sg 1.002, s 3) 1pm added Tetra safe start(emergency cycle). 8 pm added air stones, Decor, and Substrait, The only thing I could get my hands on for now was marine sand, TT LFS and they said that should be fine, may raise ph a little.

Wp at 10:30 pm.

Temp- 78'
SG-1.001
s- 3
PH-7.8
Amonia- 0 ppm :giggle:
Nitrite- 0 ppm
Nitrate-5.0 ppm

( The tank is a bit cloudy, I think its just from pouring the substraite, I hope it will clear up!!!)

I'm Wanting to move him over asap, the other tanks last amonia reading was .50, even after a big WC its still between .25, and .50- So??? Is he ready???
Atleast he seems well, and is eating very good!!!

What size tank are you moving him from and what size tank are you moving him to? Sound like the tank he is in is not cycled at all so if you are moving him to a bigger tank I would say the sooner the better. Just keep a close eye on the water parameters ,test each day and be prepared to do water changes.

Yea, the cloudiness is probably from the sand - and should clear up within a few days.

BPA that was the cutest most entertaining video I've seen in a long time! I absolutely loved the captions and caught myself laughing out loud a few times (and keep in mind it's 12.30am here and I am all alone). That was lovely. I can't wait to see how you "build" this tank up as you go along (tank background, more plants and/or ornaments). It's got so much potential and I have to say that Bloat looks like he is enjoying his new home. :D

Good job!! :grats:
