What happened to you today :)
Re: What happened to you today :)
Sounds like they're pretty familiar purplecandle. My mom thinks she's the perfect parent but she's nowhere near that. She's got a masters in social work too so she should know better than to pull all this stuff but she's got such a rose coloured view of herself... I could live with it but it's ruining my relationship with my grandma and she believes everything my mom says.
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

This means that another tank must be set up to keep them separate. I think my wife is getting little upset with all of this cuz I just did a 40gal Long set up 2 days ago viewtopic.php?f=7&t=22598&start=0 and another tank would be #6.
Its late and I cant sleep, trying to figure out a solution.
The only option that I have is to buy a double metal stand, to fit one tank on top of other.
This hobby is costing me $$
and then I got friends that come over with a bigWhy would I keep one fish in a 30gal tank? a fish that doesn't grow over 3"
Puffer fish is THE only reason I'm in aquarium hobby
And now I found this. I think it is a good deal

Re: What happened to you today :)
The real problem is that their personalities require them to be in control..especially in control of what other people think/do...But our personalities see the BS for what it is....control pretending to be charisma..Flutter wrote:Sounds like they're pretty familiar purplecandle. So, that leads to a problem for them..since they can't seep us up into their grasp..they would rather..attempt to bring us down or causing drama..sort of like what an abusive husband does...
Weird thing is they are perfectly normal people otherwise..they are not psychotic or crazy...they just have this need to control

Re: What happened to you today :)
My mother controlling? Naaaa...
She's tried to either control me or ignore me her whole life. It's very much a mix of "you're worthless, go disappear because I have important things to work on" and "do this and this and this, you're such a disaster, you must follow my rules exactly as you're pretty much already ruined". And I'm the child who informed her parents that I knew I could do whatever I wanted and I knew they couldn't stop me so they shouldn't even try. As a child she took me out of recreational ballet because I wasn't good enough. She also told me I was her mistake in life. Precious eh!
If you ask me I still turned out alright
My dad listened and we're perfectly fine
I don't know. We've just never gotten along. It's really sad because I've always wanted a mom that took care of me, made me meals, supported me, etc. I try so hard and she goes and pulls something like that completely out of the blue. She's going to make me crazy some day

LOL, no worries, I have but it doesn't get you anywhere. I just leave now when she's bothering me. It's easiest and the least stressful.

Re: What happened to you today :)
agreed!!! thats EXACTLY how my mother was growing up. if something at work pissed her off and she was still mad when she got home, i better not have a single thing for her to get ticked off at. otherwise it was my @$$ lol. i laugh about it now, we have been through hell and back. trying to control either my friends or girlfriends. if she didnt like one for whatever reason, which was usually no reason, and i got caught hanging out with them i would get screamed at/hit/grounded all in that order. if i disobeyed her grounding me, i got grounded for longer and hit harder. as i got older i got sick of it, started yelling back, telling her off, got me nowhere but kicked out. we recently had it out because i started dating this girl i worked with, who was the boss's daughter and my mom was the boss's secretary so over the years they became friends(44 yr old friends with a 22 yr old? seems wrong right?). well she found out i was seeing her and flipped $h!t!!!. saying how she feels stabbed in the back etc etc etc, blah blah blah. we were talking about how to tell her and how she would take it but my mother beat us to the punch. basically i called my step dad and told him to keep her in check, to mind her own business and i was sick of her crap and i was done with her. i went about 8 months without looking her in the eye, even with seeing her pretty much everyday at work. she would subtle-ly(lol not sure spelling) say hi real low but i would keep walking. so she gave up and started her crap talking i guess to family(who knows how full of it she is anyway), but i became the better person and showed up there on christmas for my sisters and reconciled with my mom... for now i guess lol until something else annoys her and she flips out. we will always have a better relationship not living with eachother. it pretty much ruined my trust for her, because it didnt bother me the entire time we didnt talk and it wouldnt bother me again at this point if she went on her rage again. sorry for the long post just felt like i could relate alot to the controlling mother thing
Re: What happened to you today :)
Hmm. So puffer people have screwed up relationships with their mothers
I'm lucky that I was rarely hit. If she had hit me I would have hit her right back though.

Re: What happened to you today :)
So today I went back to hospital.. more blood tests and drip tube things (O.M.G OWWWWWW).. the first one was ok, this one is now a huge hard lump all swollen and purple :/ hurt so bad.
Again they have no idea why I have stomach pain.. so I went to the doctor, he's sending me for a scan within the next week... he said if they find kidney stones I have to get them removed, & if they don't I have to have this bladder kind of operation thing (no idea what.. I nearly passed out so I didn't want to hear it)... so basically, I can't win.
& they're just trying to operate on me guessing things... which isn't happening.
I'm SO scared of anything like that. I'd rather have the pain ty <3
I wanna cry.

Re: What happened to you today :)
i pushed her back one day after pushing me when i was like 13, she stumbled over the baby swing legs(no baby sister inside, i made sure first) and she never put her hands on me after. not something that i would have done but she was out of control with everything. i was living in my car at one point for a few months when i was like 21 because i didnt want to go back in with her and when she found out what i was doing and called me, i told her i wouldnt go back with her and i would rather live in my car than under her roof, then i layed down some rules that she never let go as a part of me growing up. she didnt like that i said i would rather live in my car than in her house. think it hit her in the right spot to make her realize how she treated me my whole life.Flutter wrote:Hmm. but on the real topic, nothing special happened today. but then again the day hasnt really started as im still at work
Re: What happened to you today :)
I had really bad stomach/abdomen pains for a while. Doctors didn't know what it was and the ultrasound showed nothing abnormal. They actually went away on their own.
There's no chance it's in the reproductive organs is it? It's up high in the kidney/stomach area?
