Snail tank tankmates?

I have So many babies in my snail tank..so water changes are a bit difficult

I tend to over feed a tad...but I have a a lot of snails..so I want to make sure that everyone gets fed.

So, my question is is there a fish or another type of snail that I can put in the tank to help clean up debris or left over food?

I would still do regular water changes, and yes I see that one obvious solution is to feed less, I just would like a little extra help.

It is a ten gallon tank with one filter for a 25 gallon tank and a second filter for a 10 gallon tank plus a heater.

I feed primarily Spinach and spinach/green bean snail jelly.

Water changes are twice weekly..

And also, I would like to put a large type of snail in just for aesthetic reasons..what kind of snail could I use?

If it is left over food... PLANTS

umm, plant would be an option, but this tank gets very little light....

i have same problem
ive been doing a wc every 2-3 days
but i think im sucking out babies as well, so i just do a wc and not vaccuming bottom as much
i have real plants, and there is a shrimp in mine, i dont think he clears up much tho
ive a fluval 3 on mine creating plenty of filtration.
was gona maybe upgrade to a larger tank and then i can breed ramshorns, pond snails and cherry shrimp!
could have room then for a fish or two to eat excess food

I hate to say it, but I don't really think there's any good solution to this problem. Thing is, if you put another snail in the tank, you run the risk of the other snail eating the other's eggs. If you put shrimp in those tanks, you have to make sure your filter is a sponge filter, otherwise the shrimp will end up as shrimp paste inside the filter (I made that mistake myself). Probably the best solution is either cutting down on food, or more vacuuming. I think we all probably have the same problem with feeding too much and having too much leftover.

i keep forgetting about the filter squishing the shrimp fry :'(
does ramshorns and pond snails eat each others eggs?
ive read the answer somewere, but cant remember lol

It is just the babies that worry me so much..I do not mind water changes...

I have rams and what I believe to be pond snails..and all seems well..

But I will say that most of my babies look like ponds..

But, I do not know enough about them (pond snails) to know if they eat rams eggs..

Like purplecandle I have ramshorns and what I believe to be pond snails. Mine are in a 5 gallon and so far it does seem that I only have pond snail babies - I havent quite noticed a ramshorn baby yet. I have a feeling the pond snails eat the ramshorn eggs but my breeder tank has only been up for 3-4 weeks so i'm not sure yet.

This is my first post but i've been reading this forum for about about two months and learned an insane amount!
I'm basically addicted to lurking this place.

I too am afraid to vacuum my snail breeder for fear of sucking up a bunch of snail babies. I feed mine algae pellets!

You know, I just went and had a look...I definitely have a lot of pond snail babies..

Months ago I bought 300 ramshorns...and they came with about 10 pond snails..

I think I am going to go do some research now...

Only a week later and i've definitely seen the pond snails eating the ramshorn eggs. The ramshorn egg clusters appear to be more circular while the pond snail egg clusters appear to be trails. I've started putting a lot of the more mature pond snails in my puffer tank to help give the ramshorns a chance to actually propagate. Though I don't think it really matters if only one snail species survives - it's still a damn snail.

I only have ponds snails and all the egg sacs are circular.

A good solution for this is a food dish. A terra cotta dish sold for using under pots to catch drainage water is ideal, just set into the gravel to about level, I'd put 2 or 3 in a ten gallon.

But if you are breeding for food AFAIK or have been told, ramshorns produce more rapidly. Pond snails are slower to mature. Just a heads up.

i have both in my tank, and i have alot of rams and pond snails
pond snail babies stay small a long time, and the rams are quicker to grow
im going to phase out my pond snails and just feed rams in future
as far as i can see, both are breeding in my tank successfully,
im doing a 50% WC every other day, and i feed just algae pellets every other day and things are good!

I was wondering if someone could explain to me the difference between the different types of snails?
I have a good start of snails in my tank that I think are ramshorns, they are mainly brown shelled that kind of grow in a circle like a pin wheel? Would this be correct? Or would these be pond snails?
I also have ones that have a bit of a cone like shape to their shells. Could anyone give me an idea what those would be called?
