NEED HELP
Hello. I have some questions about my brackish tank. I have a 55 gallon tank. I started with a scat and 3 puffers. I have read different places about the correct salinity level per gallon. I would like to know about where it should be? The last place said 1.005 to 1.015. The scat and 2 of the puffers died yesterday after being in there about 2 weeks. I don't know the reason they died. I just added 2 GSPs to the tank which now makes it a total of 3 puffers. I would just like suggestions as to the salinity for the puffers and maybe someone would know why the others died after such a short time? The scat looked as though his eyes were getting cloudy, and the puffers looked as though they were shrinking, if that makes sense. I have the temp at about 78 and have tested the water with a hydrometer. I would just like to know what I should be doing about the water, keeping it up for the puffers. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks

Did you cycle the tank?
What SG is your tank water at? Did you slowly increase the SG, so as not to shock your fish - which I am assuming were in FW at the LFS? What kind of salt are you using?
For juvie GSPs, you can aim for around 1.008 or so. As they get larger (4"+), increase the SG to around 1.017+.
3 GSP's in a 55 gallon is pushing it...we recommend 30 gallons per GSP.
What sort of filtration are you running?
