I emailed the guy over in Tampa bay today he was telling me I didn't have to cycle it but I knew I would. I'm glad someone has gotten something from there and thinks it's quality! They have alot of packages that come with live sand some cucumbers, emerald crabs etc. I'm gonna def give it a go now! I'll let you guys know how it comes in!

You're not gonna go with my friend's advice & buy mostly dry, base rock & seed it with some LR?

Personally I would get 2/3s this stuff:
BRS “Reef Saver” Dry Aquarium Eco Rock $2.43-2.69 a lbs
http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store/pro ... -rock.html#
and 1/3 fiji from a LFS

As my friend mentions, unless you really want a ton of die-off, when you ship the rock, stick with about 10% LR & the rest dry base rock, which ships for way cheaper & is much lighter. In 6 months, it all will be teeming with life. Save your $$$ for good lighting, skimmer & corals!

? about this, So i have a 30 gallon tank with 6 lbs live rock, if i use base rock for my other 24 LBS in around 6 months it would be just as active as my actual live rock? i have heard that it would take nearly 2 years?

Re: Online suppliers of live rock
I'm not getting everything from Tampa bay saltwater. It's alot!!! A "package" as they call it for I think a 125 was like 1000 bucks and that's without the shipping. I was gonna def get the cheaper stuff and fill in with the tampabaysaltwater stuff. I'm dying to see what there stuff looks like! There was a specialty saltwater shop that just went out of business and a would get a few pieces of their aquacultured live rock. Just a few pieces made the tank look that much better and the fish loved it! The store has recently gone out of business so that's why I'm stuck! They did have one hell of a sale, clamp on metal hallide lights for 50.00.
