My marine tank is now going into its 4th week of cycling... so getting there slowly but surely. Have two pieces of Fiji Live Rock and a couple of blue legged hermit crabs (they have just been added) in there at the moment.
The tank is a 128litres.
I was wondering if it would be ok to keep a Valentini and a Green Spotted puffer in there together? I am planning on putting a yellow tang and maybe a couple of damsels or a pair of clowns in there too.
Our local fish place have figure of 8 puffers at the moment. They are tiny, about an inch long. They watch your every move!! Very very cute if not a little surreal though lol.
I think 128lit is only about 33 or 34 US gallons? That would be about right for 1 adult GSP on his own. If my calculator is right (& I am guessing, not using a conversion chart!) then the tank would be too small for the fish you suggest. Would be a fab home for a GSP though!

I was going on the recommendation of the guy in the local fish place with what to put in it (this is my first marine tank and I have no experience of keeping fish other than a couple of cold water fish)... Im not really fussed on the yellow tang to be honest... Would rather just have had some smaller fish in the tank,
The tank is a Boyu and is square as opposed to long. I would be more than happy to just have puffer in there and nothing else.

No!! Get a GSP (not that I'm biased at all!). Valentinis are very nice too.
I like them both... suppose it depends really what the guy in the fish shop can get....
I want a puffer with a lot of character and one that will interact. I couldnt believe how curious the figure of 8's in the shop were.. they were just hovering at the front of the tank and watching every move with their little beady eyes. He had a fantastic dogface too but the lion fish attacked it and it died (they had been getting along well). I would have gone into the shop just to look at it.. it always curled up on the bottom of the tank with its tail wrapped round it after it was fed... so cute!!
