Welcome to the July 2009 Puffer of the Month photo contest! We have some great entries this month, good luck choosing just one!
Voting will be open for 10 days, and you may only vote once, so vote wisely. After 10 days, the winner will be announced (or a tie breaker held), with the winner being entered into the Puffer of the Year competition.

Brief description - "I know you have just fed me, but please just let me have that delicious looking scallop, please!"

- Age (if known): Just a few months
- Size: 8 cm
- Brief description - Master Yoda is blowing over sand in his tank while looking for little bloodworms that buried themself trying to get away from dinner.

- Description - This little fella was found hiding by a fire coral in Grand Cayman

Brief Description: Here's my 2 Ceylon puffers saying "give us a snack" (bribe for letting me take the photo).

Species - Tetraodon nigroviridis (maybe a ceylon? - aj)
Name - Olivia
Age - 2 years old
Size - 5" long... 6" around !
Brief Description - This is Olivia under her tree root wearing her PJs. I woke her up for this shot - yet she still managed to squeeze out a smile.

- Brief description - ie location if photographed on dive or at public aquarium, tankmates, etc: He's all by himself in a 32gal tank at 1.011SG. Happy fish, nice n fat. Goes a bit nuts when I open the freezer, since he knows his food is in there hehe.

This is a picture I took while on a diving trip in the Red Sea in September 2008. I'm not sure of the type of Boxfish, it's age, etc as it was in the wild but i just really like the look on it's face.

Blinky's been smiling like an idiot since I told him that! He said he hoped Olivia didn't mind that he's still got some growing up to do to catch up to her 5" long 6" around measurements. He said he'd try his best to grow so he could impress her. (He's about 2.5" long now)

this is olivia's human grandma, and i am here to cheer her on, go olivia, she is so sometimes a little shy at first but once you get to know her she is great. come on olivia you can catch up
