He can come to my house anytime and play with my puffers.
To be honest, I was a little bummed when I saw him, I wanted a purely golden puffer and he definitely has some other color to him.

After a couple minutes of looking at him, I started liking it more and more. My wife said the same thing you did basically when she first saw him.

"Does he have freckles?"

Anyway, I like him a lot now and it's only been a day.
When I got mine I actually wanted the spotted fins on him, I think it gives character but I grew to love him in all of his yellow-ness. They are great puffers to have...will eat you out of house and home though. :D

Yep, I got him off Diver's Den, the LFS here never gets expensive fish.

Every Arothron spp. puffer I've owned has bit the glass, at some time or another - usually when annoyed (aka being in a new QT!). My mappa has a hissy fit and bites the glass every time I feed him and then don't give him more!

Yeah, I've had mine almost a week now. He basically chews on the glass when he wants to be fed, otherwise he just calmly swims around. I feel bad for him being crammed in a 29g QT but oh well, he will thank me in the long run!

Just finally got some updated pictures of the system he is going into.

Here is a full tank shot. The tank has nothing in it at the moment but hermit crabs, snails and two cleaner shrimp. Also a pulsing hand coral and some green star polyps. Pretty much everything will be puffer food eventually ;)

And then here is an updated picture of the sump, I got some PMs asking about what it looks like currently as the old ones I posted were from 4 or 5 months ago.

That is a 20g trashcan, it holds my water for my auto topoff.

As far as actual size goes, I'm not 100% sure, just about 24" wide at the top and about 28" tall.

For reference, the stand is 36" tall and 74" wide. I'm glad I built it as big as I did, because I'm out of room ;)
