Re: New 65 gal hex
Well by "green one" I will assume you mean Green Spotted Puffer (GSP)? If you do, then you could fit 2 of them in your 65 gal. If it is a hexagon I am also assuming it is not very long? Generally a larger footprint is better. But about the fish: They are brackish when young and gradually move into marine water when adults, so that is the first thing to take into consideration. You need to raise the salinity (measured with a hydrometer/refractometer) from whatever they start at in the store (probably freshwater) by 0.002 SG every week. Eventually you will reach about 1.015 which is where you stop. They grow to about 6". They are quite aggressive therefore many are kept in a species only, but some people have kept them with other fish. Depends what personality your puffer has. Make sure you feed them crustaceans and things with hard shells like snails etc. to wear down their beaks. I'm not an expert at this and I have never kept them so I could not say any more from the top of my head. But here is an article from the library which will help a lot and I highly recommend you read it thoroughly and ask any questions you have before buying the puffers.
