sweet sweet victory
so today i want and grabbed the fugu at my lfs hes home in 55 ( which is his home and qt tank because hes the only person housed there) i must say the deep sonic blue sand brings out every color in him hes Bea-u-ti-full hes settled in and munching on the tube flex live brine and the clam i stuck in there he seems happy and healthy but im worried because barbie ( the nice girl at my lfs who always gives me discounts and advise) was talking about how the new guy gave him rosies because he looked hungry ..... grrr if he gets sick i will write the angryist letter that i will never send....but i will glare at him every time i see him
any way hes settled in eating and happy pictures coming next week when my girlfriend gets home from her aunts in Chicago

Good. I am really excited for you. The more we learn about these fish, the better info we can provide better knowledge to the public.

I would wait at least a week. Then do it slowly. Big changes will stress him out.

i know that much im thinking your right on the week though next Monday ill do a small change maybe 15-20 percent and add some salt but just a bit (wouldnt want to kill my bacteria ) its cute though he was zooming around till 1030 then did one last slow sweep of his tank picking at anything that might be edible then zoomed into the sand and sense went to bed i think hes sleeping colors are muted a bit and his hardly moving breathing nice and steady

Sounds like he's nice & comfy.

Re: sweet sweet victory
So i'm a little confused, what kind of puffer did you get?
When I hear fugu, I just think of puffers in general, because fugu is just "pufferfish" in Japanese.

Re: sweet sweet victory
the common name fugu puffer ( yes redundant given current situations) is used mostly to my knowledge for the Takifugu ocellatus

Re: sweet sweet victory
we have so little information on them but from who i talk to who's had them always keep them in cold water they seem to do better in it if it wasn't im sure it would die so there has to be some truth to it or its just an extremely varied puffer that goes every where the last one i saw was in a heated tank but he was in a tank with like a bronze puffer a greens spot 2 dwarfs an arrow head and red eyed red tail and jsut as you would imagine the insueing blood bath didnt leave him alive enough to see how that worked .... i realy felt bad when i saw that tank ..
and yeah he ... she .... it is a great fish he active and such a good looking fish i hope i do well by him but i intend to share him ... or at least pictures my girlfriend should be back from Chicago by Saturday so ill have pictures up by next week ... if he will sit still and i plan on keeping people posted on how hes doing
