I need a new puff D:

Post by CtHM »

SO my dreams are being more and more shattered everyday I can't seem to find a South American Puffer or a Red eye or redeye/tail puffer.

I just can't find ANY out here! Online or otherwise.

I would really appreciate it if someone saw one that could make it's way up to Idaho, let me know!

I'm even willing to go light end brackish. If I could find a F8 that would be amazing =]

I'm looking for puffs that would fit in a 20tall or my 30

Red eye Red Tails are for sale online from Aquariumfish.net for $9.50 each. though I have no Idea if you would want to even order from an online store. Just letting you know they are there. However if you go through them...just one thing I noticed was that the pic they have for it appears to be an Irrubesco... so hopefully you didn't want Lorteti's. South American Puffs I have found to be more seasonal. Stores usually start getting them around April / May. I was told by one LFS they are not even on the list after August. They said they can submit an order for me anyways and see what happens. Well... lol, that was like Aug. 8th 2007 that I requested it.. which was like 2 weeks after they JUST got me one. I am still calling every week to re-submit my order and I still have yet to see any come in. So hopefully I can tell you I finally got him very very soon. I will keep ya posted. Good luck.

Hi

I guess that locating a LFS is a problem in a country as huge as yours, I count myself
luck to live in the UK most towns have LFS and it is only a short journey to find a puff
specialist.

Good luck with your search

I Either have my 30 gal or my 20tall. My DP's otos and Kuhlies are in the 30, but I can transfer them to the 20.

So basically I can use either.

I am willing to get fish from online, but they better be really good at it, and have a good policy.

EDIT: I was looking at a hairy, but from what I know they are very agressive, and I want some bottom feeders. (like my kuhlies)

Well if it helps, those particular guys ( Aquariumfish.net ) have been in business for at least 10 years. I have never ordered from them yet, but I am about to. Right as soon as my next tank is finished cycling.

i don't know if you are still looking but... The fishstore on five mile and overland is great. Its called freshwater aquariums. They have DPs right now. I just bought there other puffers. They are willing to order in for you though. :D Also the ZamZows on fairveiw and Liberty (thats east of cole) had some GSP and dwarfs but i don't think they will order in.

The fish store on Cole and Ustick (its behind Sockeye) will order in to. I haven't gotten any from him but my friend won't go to any other lfs.

Hope you found something already but if not then hopefully that helps.

D: shipping over $20 pushes my limit. I would a minimum wage job up to 10 hours a week, so my main source of income is still actually my parents. lol

Plus I think I might be able to get a hairy at one of our LFS, it's just a matter of catching them at the right time when they can order them.

Hey there i live in boise ID i have found four medium SAPS online from aquabid.com. I could take 2 maybe 3 of them possibly if you want the other 2/1. They are $50 plus shipping....i don't know what shipping is i have emailed them for it with a request of pics and water parameters to see if they are healthy. If you want to split the cost or work a deal with me I would be willing to help you out cause i also have been looking for about 6 months for another sap. Let me know what you think and maybe we could work something out. My lfs might be willing to buy two of them from us as well cause he was able to move his batch in february really quick and he was selling them for $16 so maybe we could lighten the load that way to. Who knows what we could do. The auction ends on the 7th so let me know asap to see what we can do.
