Moving them out of the dorms is going to be a pain in the booty. I'll probably drain it and add them to the puffer tank for a few days. If Thumbelina doesn't bother the ghost shrimp, I don't see why she would bother them. Or maybe I'll just take them home today with the two betta tanks. Every single tank is hooked up to the same air pump, some for filtration, but the puffer tank can go without for a day.

Today's Thursday, day 56 (I think). Sometime between when I moved them back home on Monday and when I moved all my other stuff back home yesterday, the second-to-last one died.

I'm preparing to order a lot of exotics soon!!! I snagged a brand-new 20g tank kit - the kind that they usually charge $100 for at Wal-Mart - with an extra tank, a large Kritter Keeper, inside it, for just $35 at a yard sale, and I've got a 29g in the shed. I'll also get some plain old plastic bins. EEEEEE!!! I'm so excited!

As the last triops ages, it's spending less and less time laying eggs.

The last one is still alive! 62 days!

I started my T. newberryi eggs last night, and I ordered five more species today. I got a great deal on them, too.

It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

Well, that very last triops was found dead earlier this evening, 62 days from when the eggs went into the water. Tomorrow, I'll clean out the setup, bag up the sand (and thousands of eggs with it), and prepare it for my next batch of babies - I have two tiny T. newberryi hatchlings twitching around the hatch container! Thus endeth my first triops tank log.
