Moving 40g Long

Hello All,

Been offline for a while. A little update. I have closed down my 20g Zenith T.V. tank, maintenance was too much of a pain and with the small access holes I was slowly ruining the cabinet. It has been tucked away for a restoration down the road. Also closed my 15g column in anticipation for my room remodel. I still have my 6.5g high tech planted bowfront in my office doing great and my 40g mixed reef GSP tank. Which brings me to the topic of this post. I am about to, as in right now, Transfer all my corals and most of my rock into a holding tank, move Franklin my beloved GSP to a small tank to be covered with a towel during the move so he stays calm. (He as been eating better and looks way healthier, thanks PP). Once 50% of the water is drained I will be shifting the tank over to a rolling toolchest that is topped with a frame i made last week. 3/4"plywood and 2x4s, the cart is rated for 500lbs so shouldn't be an issue for this 40g. I have new saltwater on hand. Wish me luck!

Holding tank is setup, the 20g from the t.v. tank all srcubbed down with two tiny koralias i had kicking around for some flow during the move. Setting up my rodi system to make another 5g to have on hand just in case. I have 20g of fresh saltwater in a brute and will not be flushing any old water until everything is moved to make sure i have enough water if god forbid something breaks. always better safe than sorry.

Here is the cart the tank will be on until the remodel is done, about 2 weeks.

And here is the coral holding tank.

Thanks PP. Time to move it back. Have a fresh batch of saltwater ~30 gallons this time. Had to use more old tank water than I'd like last time. Still battling with cyano, chemiclean seemed to slow it but not much, so during this breakdown I will be flushing all the old sand. Picked up two bags of new caribsea, one bahama oolite and one "natural reef" the chunky stuff. Once the tank is completely drained I'll be scraping the back glass, it looks hairy at the moment. Full rinse down, then adding the "chunky subtrate" then topping with a thin layer of oolite. Making sure to keep it all pretty thin as I'm pretty sure my cyano can be directly traced to using too much sand during the initial setup then removing a bunch after a couple years.

Refinished dresser. Beefed up the whole thing with 1x3s and 2x4s
I'm done with Photobucket, and having an issue pulling the correct link from the imgur mobile app. Will fix when done with the move.
